FULL DISPATCH
The AI revolution is driving an unprecedented export surge across Asia: South Korea’s exports jumped +83.5% YoY in September, the largest annual increase on record and the strongest increase among the major Asian economies. Furthermore, Singapore’s exports soared +46.2% YoY in August, while Malaysia and Taiwan recorded gains of +45.5% and +41.0% over the same period, respectively. This was followed by Vietnam’s exports rising +39.1% YoY in September, while China’s exports increased +25.0% YoY in August. Japan recorded the smallest gains, but its exports still advanced +19.3% YoY in August. The surge was driven by strong AI-related demand, particularly for semiconductors, electronics, computers, and other technology products. South Korea’s semiconductor shipments alone jumped +263% YoY in September. AI demand is fueling a historic surge in Asian exports.
