BREAKING: Only 25% of S&P 500 stocks are now trading above their 50-day moving average, the lowest proportion since April 2nd. This marks a rapid deterioration from the 70% recorded in mid-August. This is also the 2nd-lowest reading since the April 2025 "Liberation Day" market sell-off. Furthermore, just 47% of stocks are trading above their 200-day moving average, the lowest level since April 2nd. On Monday, new 52-week lows on the NYSE outnumbered new highs for the 10th consecutive trading day and in 14 of the last 15 trading sessions. Market breadth is rapidly deteriorating.
