BREAKING: South Korea's exports surged +78.3% YoY in the first 20 days of September, its strongest monthly growth on record. This brought the value of exports to $71.4 billion, an all-time high. This also marks the 5th consecutive month with growth of at least +50.0%. Furthermore, exports adjusted for working-day differences rose +89.8% YoY, following a +61.5% increase during the same period in August. Semiconductor exports were the key driver, surging +259.4% YoY to a record $34.1 billion. Shipments to the US jumped +118.0% while shipments to China rose +113.8%, South Korea has become an economic powerhouse.
